Betaflight modes: arming, Angle and Acro

ARM controls arming and ANGLE provides self-levelling tilt control. Acro is normally active when Angle or Horizon is not selected; it may not have a separate ACRO switch entry. Available modes depend on firmware and sensors.

Guide notes

Understand modes and switches

ARM controls arming and ANGLE provides self-levelling tilt control. Acro is normally active when Angle or Horizon is not selected; it may not have a separate ACRO switch entry. Available modes depend on firmware and sensors.

Assign auxiliary channels

Verify which AUX channel each switch controls in the Receiver tab, then add ranges in Modes. Give arming clear on and off positions without accidental overlap. Configure a beeper for aircraft recovery.

Verify without propellers

Remove propellers and operate every switch, checking mode activation. Start with arming off and throttle low. An active ARM range does not prove all arming conditions are satisfied; inspect disable reasons too.

Use modes in flight

Learn the difference between self-levelling and Acro in a simulator. Do not search for unfamiliar switches during low-altitude loss of control. Special functions such as GPS Rescue need separate setup and validation.
