Frame: dimensions, screws and wiring
Check supported propeller size, FC mounting pattern, camera width, motor mounting, internal height and battery mounting. Digital video systems also need sufficient transmitter space, cable clearance and cooling.
Guide notes
Measure before purchasing
Check supported propeller size, FC mounting pattern, camera width, motor mounting, internal height and battery mounting. Digital video systems also need sufficient transmitter space, cable clearance and cooling.
Dry-fit the components
Position arms, standoffs, camera, flight stack and motors before soldering. Check propeller clearance, USB access, battery straps and antenna placement. Keep cables outside the propeller sweep.
Check screw length
Motor screws must not touch the windings after passing through the arm. Verify every mounting position rather than using one screw length everywhere. Do not crush FC damping mounts; protect wires against carbon edges.
Final inspection
Check tight arms and standoffs, strain-free wiring and repair access. Record screw lengths and spare parts. After structural changes, verify motor direction and FC orientation again.

Stator dimensions, KV, shaft diameter, mounting pattern and supply recommendations are separate specifications. KV describes unloaded speed per volt, not thrust. Use the manufacturer's battery and propeller recommendations.

Propeller diameter, pitch, blade count, centre bore and mounting method must match the motors and frame. A different propeller changes load and handling. Start with manufacturer recommendations.
