ELRS receivers: UART wiring, binding and link checks
Record receiver brand, model, band, target and firmware. Transmitter and receiver need compatible bands and protocols. Integrated SPI and external UART receivers use different update methods.
Guide notes
Identify hardware and firmware
Record receiver brand, model, band, target and firmware. Transmitter and receiver need compatible bands and protocols. Integrated SPI and external UART receivers use different update methods.
ExpressLRS: wiring up
Use receiver and FC diagrams to connect power, ground, TX and RX. Verify supply voltage, enable Serial RX on the corresponding UART and select the appropriate serial protocol. A dedicated inverted SBUS pad is not necessarily a general UART.
Complete binding
Set a binding phrase or follow the supported binding procedure in the official documentation. An illuminated LED does not prove channel reception. Verify four sticks, auxiliary switches, link quality and telemetry in Betaflight.
Verify failsafe without propellers
Remove propellers and check the FC response to link loss under controlled conditions. Receiver LED changes alone are insufficient. The tutorial is from 2025; use current hardware and firmware documentation for targets and update steps.

Check supported propeller size, FC mounting pattern, camera width, motor mounting, internal height and battery mounting. Digital video systems also need sufficient transmitter space, cable clearance and cooling.

Analog and digital systems use different cameras, transmitters, goggles and control protocols. Check compatibility, voltage, dimensions and cooling for the exact components. Matching connectors do not prove compatibility.

Stator dimensions, KV, shaft diameter, mounting pattern and supply recommendations are separate specifications. KV describes unloaded speed per volt, not thrust. Use the manufacturer's battery and propeller recommendations.
