Guide notes
Identify your hardware
Record the radio model, internal or external RF module and frequency band. EdgeTX is the radio operating system; ELRS is the radio link. They require different firmware and update procedures.
Calibrate and create a model
Calibrate the sticks using the radio manual. Create a dedicated quadcopter model and check channel order, throttle direction and switch assignments. For a simulator, select USB joystick mode and calibrate again in the simulator.
Verify received channels
Remove the propellers and connect to Betaflight. Move each stick and auxiliary switch, checking the channel response, centres, endpoints and minimum throttle. Resolve radio model errors before changing unrelated FC settings.
Use a consistent startup routine
Start with throttle low and the arm switch off. Check the selected model, radio link, battery and warnings before powering the aircraft. The video demonstrates general EdgeTX setup; menus depend on hardware and version.
