Mainland China: registration and preflight requirements

This guide applies to civil unmanned aircraft used in mainland China. For other regions consult the local authority. Registration and permission for a specific flight are separate matters.

Guide notes

Confirm the jurisdiction

This guide applies to civil unmanned aircraft used in mainland China. For other regions consult the local authority. Registration and permission for a specific flight are separate matters.

Use official services

Use the CAAC UOM platform and its current registration instructions. Prepare exact model, product identification and required information. For self-built aircraft or missing information, consult official support rather than inventing a serial number.

Check before takeoff

Review current airspace, site restrictions, flight requirements and operator conditions. Rules and platform procedures may change. Registration alone does not establish permission for every location or activity.

Maintain the records

Keep registration records and update equipment information as required. Consult official help for login, review or aircraft-category questions. The links below lead to official notices and the platform.
