01 / Record the complete connector name
Amphenol describes SMA as threaded and MMCX as snap-on. They use different coupling methods. Rosenberger also supplies separate interface documentation for SMA Reverse Polarity; do not omit RP from a product description.
Editorial advice: record the complete connector name at both the VTX and antenna ends. Colour, approximate size or brand alone is insufficient ordering information.
02 / Check the centre contact as well as the shell
Inspect the connector face and centre contact against documentation for the exact hardware revision. Outer threads or shell size alone do not establish a matching pair, particularly when RP-SMA is involved.
The photo locates the connector opening; it is not a dimensioned interface drawing. If the centre contact is unclear, obtain a close front photograph and supplier confirmation before buying.

03 / Check cable exit and mounting clearance
Editorial advice: with power disconnected, check clearance for a straight or right-angle plug, the cable exit and access for gripping the connector. Do not pull the cable to test a connection.
The following photograph shows connector placement on a different transmitter. It does not establish interchangeable antennas between the two products.

04 / Send the supplier a precise checklist
Editorial checklist: exact VTX model and revision; complete connector names and clear front photos of both ends; straight or angled plug and required cable length; antenna operating band and the device manual requirements. Request confirmation for each item. Fitting mechanically is not a complete compatibility check.
Pause the purchase or installation if any item is uncertain. No powered test, SWR measurement or flight test was performed. Connector documentation alone cannot prove a particular antenna’s performance on a particular VTX.
