01 / Identify the exact hardware

Editorial advice: record the model, revision, dimensions and mounting method. Do not wire by resemblance to another housing or brand. Obtain the matching manual first.

02 / Leave cooling space

GEPRC’s RAD 2.5W page calls for ventilation and describes thermal power reduction. This is not Alpha 5 thermal data. Editorial advice: keep fixings and cables clear of the pictured fan and heatsink; check the actual frame clearance.

03 / Separate inputs and outputs

The photo shows 5V-OUT and IN labels, not a connector pinout. GEPRC also forbids feeding its RAD power input from the 5V output. Verify each device’s pinout, polarity and input range separately.

04 / Check the cable exit

Editorial advice: dry-fit with power disconnected. Check for plugs hitting the frame, trapped cables and a practical antenna cable route. The photo shows a cable exit; it does not establish pin functions from wire colours.

05 / Before mounting checklist

Editorial checklist: matching model/manual; clear cooling surfaces; verified input, output and polarity; no trapped wires; correct antenna connected before power according to the unit manual. GEPRC requires its RAD antenna before use. This does not replace a complete build inspection.

Sources & verification date

Official sources checked 10 October 2026. Assembly checklist, with no power-on, thermal or flight tests. Photos show the user’s AKK Alpha 5; GEPRC notices apply to the named RAD model and are not AKK wiring specifications.
